Workshops

I didn’t want to just know names of things. I remember really wanting to know how it all worked.” — Elizabeth Blackburn,

We deliver high quality science themed career workshops for our secondary audience primarily from underserved communities, so they are better equipped to make informed choices towards improving social class.

Basildon Street Science

If you can’t bring the people the science, take the science to the people” – Dr Hephzi Tagoe

Basildon street science is a one-day science festival birthed as a solution to the lack of community based hands-on science experiences in Basildon. Here is how it all started.

We bring the science community together from across UK to the Basildon Town Square for a day packed with interactive experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).  Our exhibitors engage the public with their work to showcase the STEM industry through conversations, the arts and interactive activities.

We are always welcoming exhibitors and volunteers to support Basildon Street Science.

Let Off STEAM

The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science”. – Albert Einsten

Let Off STEAM” is a science club in Basildon for 5 – 12 year olds designed to engage our young people with the concept of art and science as two sides of the same coin.  We meet on the last Saturday of the month from 4pm – 6pm to deliver fun, Curriculum-Linked, Hands-on activities for our audience to engage with.  Sign up your child for our monthly “let off steam” science club.

Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, our session are now delivered online.

STEM Inspired Field Trips

For many of the young people in our network,  the only experience of science they are exposed to is that from the classroom. Our STEM inspired field trips are designed to help develop science capital within the underserved communities as a tool to improving social mobility and diversity in STEM.
